LUX Audience Award: new screenings at the European Parliament in Brussels

Three of the five LUX Audience Award nominated films will be screened in the coming months at the Info Hub of the European Parliament in Brussels

What is LUX – The European Audience Film Award?

The LUX Audience Award is the biggest Audience Film Award in the European Union. It is presented yearly by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy, in partnership with the European Commission and Europa Cinemas.

The five nominated films for the LUX Audience Award address values that EU is built on. They raise awareness about some of today’s main social and political issues such as mental health, poverty, freedom of expression, gender equality, LGBTIQ rights - to name but a few.

During the competition period, the European Parliament organizes free screenings of the five nominated films across the European Union and provides subtitles in the 24 languages of the EU.

The LUX Audience Award is the only film prize in the world where the audience together with Members of a democratically elected Parliament can decide who the winner will be by rating the five nominated films at www.luxaward.eu.
